Georgia McKown is the Director of Impact Assessment at the Military Family Advisory Network, where she leads efforts to measure and communicate the impact of MFAN’s programs for military-connected families. She brings deep expertise in program evaluation, data systems, and instructional design, previously serving in data and evaluation leadership roles at the Behavior Alliance of South Carolina and the Military Child Education Coalition. Georgia is known for her collaborative approach to building data infrastructure and translating it into meaningful, actionable insight for the teams and communities she supports. She holds a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences from Clemson University, along with a Master of Science in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Old Dominion University.

In her current role as Director of Impact Assessment at the Military Family Advisory Network, Georgia leads the organization’s efforts to measure, evaluate, and communicate the impact of its programs and services for military-connected families.
As an expert in instructional design and program evaluation, Georgia brings deep experience to every project she touches. She is known for her collaborative approach to reimagining data systems, from co-developing relational databases to designing logic models and strategic plans. By taking a holistic view of both the technical and human sides of her work, Georgia is dedicated to coaching, training, and supporting the teams and partners she works alongside.
Prior to joining MFAN, Georgia was Program Manager for Effective Data Systems and Professional Learning with the Behavior Alliance of South Carolina, where she supported school districts adopting multi-tiered systems of support for behavior. Before that, she served as Director of Planning, Analysis, & Evaluation and Instructional Designer at the Military Child Education Coalition. Earlier in her career, Georgia was a graduate assistant and instructor at Clemson University and a second and third grade teacher in Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
Georgia earned her Ph.D. in Learning Sciences from Clemson University. She holds a Master of Science in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, both from Old Dominion University. Georgia currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina where she enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.
