Marcela Flores-Chavira

Marcela serves as Regional Manager, overseeing programs in Washington and California. She is a military spouse, mother, and professional with more than 10 years of experience in data analysis, strategic planning, program support, and cross-functional collaboration across government and financial services.

As the wife of a U.S. Navy Sailor and a mother of two, Marcela understands firsthand the unique experiences, challenges, and opportunities that come with military family life. Her commitment to supporting military families has also been shaped by her involvement in the military community. She served as an elected Family Readiness Group Treasurer for USS Tripoli, supporting families and contributing to the readiness and well-being of the community during deployment. In her professional role at MCAS Miramar, Marcela also served as a Deployment Readiness Coordinator, where she supported service members and families through deployment readiness efforts and helped connect them with important resources and support.

These experiences have strengthened Marcela’s passion for building connections, advocating for military families, and helping ensure that service members and their families have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. She is especially passionate about creating stronger, more connected military communities and making sure military families feel seen, supported, and valued.

Outside of work, Marcela enjoys spending time with my family, taking walks around the neighborhood, and relaxing with her orange cat. And if she’s not doing all those things, you can probably find her on a cruise somewhere in the Caribbean!

Marcela is excited to bring her professional experience, personal perspective, and commitment to military families to MFAN and to contribute to the organization’s work to make a meaningful difference in the lives of military families.
