The prospect of starting a new chapter, exploring new places, and meeting new friends can be both thrilling and daunting. Not to mention the logistical aspects of a move which can be overwhelming. That is why The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors Killeen is constantly giving military families the tools they need during times of transition.

Our Cohen Clinic at Endeavors serves the entire military family, including parents, siblings, spouses or partners, children, caregivers, and others of veterans and active duty military. We are part of Cohen Veterans Network, a not-for-profit philanthropic organization keeping its promise to post-9/11 veterans, service members and military families, currently via 24 Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics across the country. Read this blog on Cohen Veterans Network to learn more about a smoother transition for both service members and their loved ones.

Each year more than 400,000 service members and their families receive orders for a permanent change of station (PCS), requiring them to move across the state, the country, or the world to a new duty station. According to MFAN research, military families move every 2 to 3 years on average, which is three times as often as civilian families.

PCS moves can present a unique set of challenges for military families including school transitions, employment challenges, financial burdens, and the loss of a trusted support network. Approximately two-thirds of military families live off base in civilian communities. As neighbors, there are things we can do to support military families and help ease their transition. Learn how you can welcome a military family to your community.
