MFAN Participates in Quality of Life Panel’s MSO Roundtable
July 26, 2023On July 26, 2023, the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) was one of four military service organizations invited to participate in a congressional roundtable hosted by the House Armed Services Committee’s Quality of Life Panel.
Following a July 18 engagement with the Department of Defense, this was the second official event for the newly-formed Quality of Life Panel, which will focus on issues that impact service members and their families, including child care, compensation, health care, housing, and spouse support programs. The panel will provide a written report to the Military Personnel Subcommittee, outlining recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act.
MFAN President and Executive Director, Shannon Razsadin, briefed Members of Congress on the current landscape of quality-of-life programs and policies, relayed concerns of service members and their families, and shared ideas and solutions to address military families’ support needs.
Other military service organizations in attendance included Blue Star Families, Military Officers Association of America, and National Military Family Association.
