MFAN Welcomes New Deputy Director of Research and Program Evaluation, Jen Hurwitz

May 14, 2019

We’re thrilled to share that our research team is growing, and we recently added a new deputy director of research and program evaluation, Jen Hurwitz!

Jen has been a military spouse for more than 20 years, and is incredibly passionate about creating positive research-based change for military families. Most recently as the applied research manager at Blue Star Families, she facilitated survey instrument design, led a team of research analysts, provided oversight for survey materials, and managed special projects. As the deputy director of research and program evaluation, Dr. Hurwitz will lead efforts to continuously evaluate the impact of MFAN’s military family programming ensuring it remains responsive to current needs, in addition to supporting the planning, execution, and reporting of the organization’s research.

Hurwitz holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist and has worked as a university professor and researcher. Following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, she and her family planted roots in Louisville, Kentucky, where they enjoy the city’s beautiful parks system.
