The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) can provide emergency financial assistance based upon need, through either interest-free loans or grants, when repayment could cause genuine hardship.
Categories of financial assistance includde:
Basic living expenses (food, shelter, utilities)
Medical and dental care on a case-by-case basis
Funeral expenses
Emergency transportation
Essential car repairs
Pay/allotment problems
Disasters, and Moving Assistance Program (for PCSing personnel)
