Amy Shick is an Army spouse currently residing in Washington.
Her areas of passion are:
As a military spouse for more than 20 years, Amy has had the opportunity to volunteer in many roles supporting the Army community from platoon-level volunteer to Battalion Senior SFRG Advisor and Chair to the Spouses Club Scholarship Committee. Amy loves giving back to the community as it has provided her and her family so much support throughout the years.
Having PCSed 12 times in the past 19 years, Amy experienced challenges maintaining a consistent professional career. She left her career as a paralegal and traded it in for real estate investing, managing properties and pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors alongside her husband’s career.
In the beginning of their marriage, Amy’s husband served in the Marine Corps. After completing his service and taking some time away from the military, he commissioned into the Army. In addition to the 12 PCSes, they have gone through four combat deployments and countless separations for TDY and trainings. They have experienced many subcultures, living in places like Washington, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Alaska, and Germany.
When supporting military families, she is highly passionate about children’s educational opportunities and healthcare experiences, healthy, safe, and affordable housing, and food insecurity.
In Amy’s spare time, she likes to hike, cook, and spend time with family and friends. They have three children — Maddie (21), Brady (19) and Riley (15) — who are very involved in sports (ice hockey and volleyball). The family spends a lot of time traveling to watch the kids play in tournaments.
