Delores Johnson Davis

Ms. Davis was appointed to a Senior Leader position on August 23, 2015, until her retirement in October 2019.

She strategically manages and integrates research, analysis, and studies in support of the Human Dimension and Army People strategy. These efforts include: work in the area of Big Data, especially as it relates to personnel and manpower, Army Human Capital, and risk assessment studies for Soldiers. She is responsible for establishing accountability and synergy to accomplish Human Dimension priorities and integrate future Human Dimension capabilities and systems to increase Army readiness. She performs strategic engagements internal and external to the Department of Defense to include federal research agencies, science and technology scholars, private organizations, and individuals to determine which projects impact the skills, competence, and resilience of the future warfighter.

Leadership Experience: In addition to a storied career at the Pentagon and Army community service command, Delores’ early career positions include various Army positions in the United States and overseas; Texas Mental Health and Retardation; Executive Director, Shelter for Battered Women, El Paso, TX; Special Education Department, Vernon Parish, LA and National Clearinghouse of Pretrial Release and Diversion Programs, Washington, DC.

Accomplishments: Ms. Davis received significant professional training from the Defense Leadership and Management Program, as well as completing the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government.

Her service is well recognized, having received honors like the Career Senior Leader Award from the Department of the Army, Award for Innovative Ideas to Support Families of Deployed Soldiers from the Association of Work Life Progress (AWLF), The White Plume (Morale, Recreation and Welfare Award), Finalist for The Stalwart Award – Installation Management Command, and numerous Department of the Army Superior Civilian Service Awards.

Ms. Davis’ professional memberships include the Association of the United States Army, Naval War College Alumni Association, and National Association of Social Work.

Delores holds a Bachelor of Arts from Averett University, Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from Naval War College, and Master of Social Work (MSW) from
