Joanna is an active duty Army spouse and mother to an energetic two-year-old boy. Professionally, her career began working with non-profits primarily focused in healthcare where she managed fundraising, marketing, and development. She transitioned into the start-up tech world and now works in health tech within the lifecycle and external communications space.
She is a graduate of The New School University (B.A.) and Northeastern University (M.A.) where she focused on global health and corporate social responsibility.
Joanna her wife, Melissa, have been together for seven years. They have experienced three duty stations, two deployments, and many instances of being separated due to military life.
With a passion for military spouse employment, Joanna currently manages her company’s Military Spouse Employment Partnership. She is also tapped into child care as she understands that military spouse employment isn’t possible without affordable and flexible child care options.
She’s also a strong advocate for supporting non-traditional military families and ensuring their unique challenges and needs are heard.
Joanna is an engaged member of her son’s school community and has been active in local running communities since her family’s first duty station. In her free time, Joanna enjoys good food, travel, and weekend visits to the farmers market. Joanna, Melissa, their son, Hudson, and their senior Yorkshire Terrier, Liberty Belle, currently reside in Clarksville, Tennessee.
