Tomya Hearon

Tomya Hearon, an Army veteran and retired Department of the Army civilian, has dedicated 18 years to serving military communities through Army Community Service. With a passion for connecting soldiers, families, and veterans to essential resources, she’s worked across various roles, including Relocation Readiness and the Exceptional Family Member Program.

Tomya Hearon is an Army veteran and retired Department of the Army civilian with deep roots in Houston, Texas. She and her husband, whom she met while stationed in Schinnen, the Netherlands, have shared 31 years of marriage and raised two talented children.

With over 18 years of service in Army Community Service (ACS), Tomya has held diverse roles that reflect her unwavering commitment to military families. She began her ACS journey in the Relocation Readiness Program, guiding soldiers and families through the challenges of PCS moves. Her work in the Exceptional Family Member Program supported the identification and enrollment of families with special needs, ensuring access to vital services.

In Community Information Services, Tomya served as a trusted liaison between military and civilian organizations. She led community outreach initiatives, developed needs assessments and surveys, and curated referral and resource information to strengthen support networks across installations.

Throughout her career, Tomya has been a passionate connector—linking soldiers, families, and veterans to the resources that empower resilience and self-reliance. Outside of work, she enjoys carpentry and creative arts, bringing a hands-on approach to her personal passions.

Tomya holds a Master of Science in General Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Excelsior College in Albany, NY. She is also a Certified Public Manager, awarded by the College of Public Service & Community Solutions at Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ.
