Military Spouse Employment

A Diverse Workforce

Military spouses are a diverse group with a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. They are an invaluable addition to any workforce. While there is no one-size-fits-all employment solution for military spouses, MFAN has dedicated support and resources to assist in meeting employment needs and transition experiences for military families.

MFAN research has proven time and time again that active-duty military spouses constantly struggle to find gainful employment because of the following obstacles:

  • The demands of military life.
  • The need to serve as the primary caregiver to their children, which also necessitates having flexible schedules when spouses are deployed.
  • Military spouses worry that they will not be hired because they relocate so often.

Visit the Research & Reports page for more details on MFAN’s research findings on spousal employment needs and transition experiences.
