Marine Corps spouse of nearly 20 years who brings lived experience, leadership, and a deep commitment to strengthening military families.
Passion Areas:
A proud Marine Corps spouse of nearly 20 years, Berlinda brings deep-rooted passion, lived experience, and servant leadership to MFAN’s Advisory Board. She currently serves as President of the Camp Lejeune Leadership Seminar and Executive Assistant at Stronghold Food Pantry, where she plays a vital role in supporting families facing food insecurity. Her volunteer efforts extend to the CHEW Program, which provides weekend meals for school-aged children, and Onslow Community Outreach, where she works to connect community members with essential resources.
Over the course of her family’s journey—including multiple PCS moves across California, Virginia, and North Carolina and several combat and non-combat deployments—Berlinda has gained a profound understanding of the resilience and flexibility military families are called to demonstrate. Her commitment to connection and compassion is reflected in her long-standing involvement with the Family Readiness Program, and her contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Lifetime Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the 2024 Lightkeepers Award (2nd Place, Onslow County), and the honor of 2023 Camp Lejeune Military Spouse of the Year.
Her focus areas include food security, empowering military spouses through leadership and mentorship, and ensuring families have equitable access to the resources they need to thrive. Whether coordinating support, advocating for others, or lending a listening ear, Berlinda is deeply committed to making sure military and veteran families feel seen, supported, and ready for whatever comes next.
Outside of her community roles, Berlinda enjoys baking, reading, fitness, and spending time with her family. She lives with her recently retired Marine spouse, their energetic son, two beloved dogs, and a flock of chickens. Hosting monthly gatherings with their close-knit circle of military friends is one of her favorite ways to stay grounded and connected in their now-permanent home.
